4 Centres With Live Workouts You Can Follow At Home (some are free!)

Stuck at home and looking for ways to work off all your energy? There’s no need to buy fancy gym equipment with these online workouts. All you need is a mat, a towel, and some creativity😉.

1. WeBarre – Daily virtual classes on Zoom (Paid)

Checkout @webarre virtual class schedule on their website.

WeBarre has taken their barre classes online! These classes are hosted ‘live’ on Zoom by their instructors. All you need to do is to download Zoom on desktop or mobile and a Zoom meeting link will be emailed to you 30 minutes before the start of class.

If you’ve never heard of barre, it’s an exercise that uses low-impact, high-intensity movements to boost endurance, improve balance and increase range of motion by strengthening muscle groups.

Although most classes use a ballet barre and have classic dance moves in the workout, you won’t need a dance background to start. After all, it’s very beginner-friendly and suitable for different ability levels.

Worried about having to buy equipment for barre classes? Fret not, as WeBarre has come up with substitutes you can find in your house for your workout at home. Check out these substitutes below:

Do note that a single class costs $12 and a weekly unlimited pass costs $35 (introductory offer). If you’d like to attend a private class, it will cost $99. All classes are released 7 days in advance, and you can start booking them around noon.

2. Fitness First Singapore – Weekly ‘Fitness at Home’ Facebook Live Sessions (Free)

Follow their Facebook page @FitnessFirstSingapore for schedules.

If you’ve gotten bored of your usual workout routine, why not try out Fitness First’s Fitness at Home Series? The series consists of different types of classes weekly, including Dance Moves, Dynamic Flow©, Yoga, FGT HIIT, BOOM, LES MILLS and BODYCOMBAT© so that you’ll always be doing something new.

If you’re unable to make it for the session, the video will still be available on their Facebook feed for you to watch at your own time. For those who prefer using Instagram, it will also be posted on IGTV shortly after the live session.

Fun fact – did you know that their daily ‘STAY HOME STAY FIT’ challenge (#FFHomeChallenge) uses substitutes such as *gasp* a frying pan for their tricep extensions exercise? Whatever you do, make sure you don’t damage any of your mum’s prized kitchenware.

3. Shape Singapore – Weekday Instagram Live Sessions (Free)

Follow their Instagram page @shapesingapore for schedules

For those who face space constraints at home, check out their IG Live workouts that can be easily done in your living room with just a mat.

Schedules are posted weekly on their Instagram page and you can choose from a variety of workouts ranging from HIIT, Yoga, Pilates and Tabata that target different muscle groups. For example, one of their Yoga workouts targets tight hips, while one of their Pilates workouts focuses on toning arms.

These workouts are streamed live on Instagram and most of them are scheduled 3-4 times a week at 6pm, so you can squeeze in a quick 30-minute workout right before dinner.

Are you still bored even after trying a different workout each week? Get creative by using unexpected household items in your workout…like, ahem, toilet paper
